The work

You fill in the form and sign the powers of attorney — we do the rest.

How it works

From enquiry to number plates, in four steps.

  1. 1

    Enquiry

You tell us which car it is and what you plan to do. We reply with the cost and timeline of your case, with no obligation.

  2. 2

    Check

You upload your documents and we review them page by page: feasibility, what is missing and the estimated tax.

  3. 3

    Paperwork

You sign the powers of attorney and we do the rest: COC, technical data sheet, inspection and taxes.

  4. 4

    Number plates

The Spanish traffic authority (DGT) registers the car, and the plates reach your home 4 to 6 weeks later.

The clock starts once your documents and powers of attorney are complete, not when you pay. Between deregistration in the country of origin and the Spanish plates there are a few days when the car may not be driven. We plan the file to keep that window as short as possible and tell you the date in advance; during that time you need a private parking space or a garage. Without a COC, an individual approval with a test report is needed: €650 and about four more weeks. From outside the EU, allow 8 to 12 weeks.

Example · EU vehicle

Audi A6 Avant 40 TDI quattro, 2021

Registered in Munich · 142 g/km WLTP · 68,000 km · COC in the car's paperwork

Document check, on day 1€99
Rest of the full service, on day 4€1,401
Registration fee, plates and inspection feeincluded
What you pay us, at a fixed price€1,500

Separate, and not collected by us

Registration tax, 4.75% bandCollected by the Spanish tax agency, on a taxable base of €28,811: €61,300 official average value minus five years' depreciation. Zero if exempt as a change of residence.(€1,369)
Manufacturer's COC feeOnly if it has to be requested. In this file it was already in the car's paperwork, so €0.(€100 to €250)
Municipal road tax, first year pro rataCollected by your town hall, and due every year.(€96)

Without a COC, about two weeks more. If it isn't in the car's paperwork, we have to request it from the manufacturer and wait for it to be issued, plus the brand's fee. Everything else stays the same.

The amounts in brackets are not ours, and you may never pay them: they depend on your case, your town hall and the exemption. We don't add them to the price because we don't collect them.

Sample file with the rates and tables of September 2026: not a real customer, and we don't present it as one. As soon as we have reviews we can publish, they will go in exactly this spot, with names. Only the €1,500 is fixed; everything else depends on the exact model, the town hall, the date of assessment and the change-of-residence exemption. Transport from Munich costs around €1,180 extra, and we don't collect that either.

Full service

€1,500Fixed total price for EU vehicles · from €2,950 for vehicles from outside the EU, customs included
€99 now, with your documents€1,401 only if you go ahead

The €99 pays for the document check: we review your documents page by page and tell you in writing whether your case is feasible, what is missing, how much the tax will be and which date is realistic. If you go ahead, you pay the remaining €1,401 and we open your file. The €99 is part of the €1,500, not on top of it.

Upload documents and pay for the check · €99

Payment via Stripe: card, Bizum or bank transfer. The €99 is non-refundable, because the work is done and the report is yours. If your case isn't feasible, we tell you there and you pay nothing more.

  • 1. Documents and €99All your paperwork in one form, check paid.
  • 2. Report in 48 hFeasibility, missing papers, estimated tax and timeline.
  • 3. €1,401 and powers of attorneyPay the rest, sign, file opened.
  • 4. Your platesCOC, technical data sheet, inspection, taxes, registration and plates delivered home.

What exactly you get for €99.

  • A written report, in 48 hoursFeasibility, which documents are missing and how to get them, the tax calculated with the real table for your model, and the date your plates would arrive. The report is yours whether you go ahead or not.
  • Missing papers are normalThat is exactly what the check is for: nobody has the complete folder. We tell you what is missing, who issues it and how to request it, and we check again at no extra cost once you have it.
  • If it isn't feasible, you find out for €99Not for €1,500, or two months later with the car off the road. That is the end of it: you pay nothing more and you know exactly why.

The €99 is non-refundable: it is the price of this work, not a deposit or a booking fee. It is, however, credited — if you go ahead, €1,401 remains — and it doesn't expire while you think it over.

No misunderstandings

What the price includes and what it doesn't.

The fixed price covers all the work and every administrative fee of the procedure. What it can't cover is the tax that the tax agency and your town hall charge you for the car: we calculate it, declare it and pay it on your behalf, but the amount is yours.

Deregistration in the country of originOptional. What your country requires and what it costs, we tell you in the enquiryThat country's authorityNo, on request

If you are moving to Spain and the car was registered in your name for more than six months before the move, the change-of-residence exemption is likely: no registration tax and no customs duty. We review your case and apply for it at no extra cost.

Deregistration in the country of origin is not included in the fixed price, wherever the car comes from. It is optional: you can do it yourself or ask us to. Every country has its own procedure; what yours requires and what it costs, we tell you in the free enquiry, before you pay anything.

Before you start

What we need from you.

Which documents are needed?
  • NIE or passport, both sides
  • Proof of address in Spain: padrón certificate, rental contract or title deed
  • Registration certificate from the country of origin, all parts
  • COC or manufacturer's data sheet
  • Purchase contract or invoice
  • Deregistration certificate, if already deregistered
  • If you are moving here, also: deregistration from your previous country's residents' register and proof you have owned the car for six months

You need none of this for the free enquiry: just tell us which car it is. You upload the documents only once, in the form for the €99 document check, and the clock starts when the folder is complete. That way we don't chase you every three days for a month for the next piece of paper.

How much is the registration tax?
It depends on CO₂ emissions and the fiscal value, not on the purchase price: 0% up to 120 g/km, 4.75% from 121 to 159, 9.75% from 160 to 199 and 14.75% from 200. The taxable base is the official Spanish average values minus depreciation for age. In the document check we calculate it with the real table for your model.
Do you deregister the car in the country of origin?

If you ask us to, yes, but it is not included in the fixed price: it is an optional service, the same for every country. You can also do it yourself.

There is no common procedure in the EU. Some countries allow deregistration remotely with a power of attorney, others require the plates to be returned and, depending on the case, someone to appear in person; France has no export deregistration but an export transfer declared online. That is why we look at each case: in the free enquiry we tell you what your country requires, whether we can handle it and what it costs.

What doesn't change: the complete Spanish registration is always in the €1,500.

And vehicles from outside the EU, including the UK?
Customs clearance is added: up to 10% duty on the value and 21% import VAT on value plus duty, unless exempt as a change of residence. The United Kingdom can come out at zero duty under the rules of origin, and Switzerland has its own regime. We clear this up in the document check, before you pay anything.
Do I have to go to any office?
No. With the signed power of attorney we act on your behalf at the DGT and at customs. Only the car itself has to go to the technical inspection — we or the transport company take care of that. The only possible exception is in the country of origin: some EU countries require the plates to be returned in person for deregistration, and we tell you before you commission anything.
Who drives the car to the inspection?
Usually you. It is the only time you have to do anything with the car yourself: one hour, with the folder we go through with you the day before. The owner doesn't have to drive; anyone you trust can. If you would rather hand it over, we drive it for €300 within 50 km, with a second visit included if anything is flagged. Either way, the inspection fee is part of the fixed price.
Will my car be off the road for a while?
Yes, for a few days. Deregistration in the country of origin ends the registration and with it your current insurance, and until the DGT issues the Spanish plates the car may neither be driven nor parked on a public road. We settle the taxes and the registration appointment before deregistering so that this window is as short as possible, and we tell you the date in advance. Plan on a private parking space or a garage for those days. We tell you now rather than at the end, when it gets in the way.
What are the COC and the short technical data sheet?
The COC is the manufacturer's certificate of conformity, and it states exactly what your car is under European type approval. Many cars already have it in their paperwork; otherwise we request it, the manufacturer charges €100 to €250 and takes around two weeks. The short technical data sheet is signed by a chartered engineer; it transfers that data into the Spanish format the inspection station needs for your Spanish registration document. It is required for every import and included in our price.
Are you a Spanish gestoría?
No, and that is exactly why it works. We handle the foreign side that no Spanish gestoría touches: the COC from the manufacturer, deregistration abroad if you want it, and all the correspondence in English. The Spanish paperwork is done by a licensed Spanish gestor we work with. You have a single point of contact, us, in English.
